Minutes from Union Executive Committee Meeting

Present – Prince Charles Alexander, Dennis Cecere, Peggy Codding, Peter Cokkinias, Marti Epstein, Dino Govoni, Rich Grudzinski, Danny Harrington, Margaret McAllister, Jeff Perry, Wendy Rolfe, Jackson Schultz, David Scott, and Jeri Sykes.

1. Danny made a motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Marti seconded and the vote was unanimous to accept the minutes.
    
2. A recent arbitration for an unjustified termination was won by the Union. The college still has thirty days to appeal.
    
3. A recent conversion may be considered one of the six for this year. Our position is that the conversion happened before the current contract started and therefore should not be considered one of the six.
    
4. Commuting faculty from NY, etc. perhaps faculty can get a corporate rate for staying at a hotel. We are looking into it.
    
5. Faculty member with a service dog. We discussed supporting the faculty member through any process.
    
6. Jackson will be meeting with Larry Simpson today to discuss meeting with Board of Trustees and many other recent topics.
    
7. We discussed the merger of BoCo faculty into our union.
    
8. A fall newsletter was discussed.
    
9. The long-term and short-term disability plans were discussed. We have a few people looking into several aspects of our plan and others out there.
    
10. We discussed the Peer Comparison report at length.
